Hokkaido's Workshop: the begging

Intorno ai primi di ottobre venni invitato da un organizazzione privata a tenere un laboratorio artistico in una scuola elementare di Hokkaido ( l'isola piu` a nord del Giappone) cosi`, negli ultimi giorni di novembre andai per la prima volta li` ad incontrare gli organizzatori del laboratorio, gli insegnanti della scuola e per il sopraluogo agli spazzi che avrei potuto usare.

Around the beginging of October I has been invited from a privat organization to hold an art workshop for an elementary school in Hokkaido (the island up in the north of Japan), so in the end of november I went there for the first time to met the organizer of this workshop, the teachers of the school and for see and check the space I could use for do it.

Nov. 25 -Partenza da Takamatazu alle 6 del mattino cambio a Tokyo arrivo per il tardo pomeriggio all'aereoporto di Sapporo la capitale di Hokkaido, da qui con un ora scarsa di macchina arriviamo in citta`per un breve incontro con gli organizzatori dell'evento, una cena in un buon sushiyasan(ristorante di sushi), e poi a dormire.

Nov.25- Departure from Takamatzu at 6.00 am.,change at Tokyo and arrived to Sapporo airport in the afternoon. One hour by car to reach Sapporo city for a fast meeting with the staff whom organized this event and then dinner in a very nice sushiyasan ( a sushi restaurant) and then to sleep ready for the next day.

Bella, grande e ariosa Sapporo e` una citta` molto moderna anche nei bassifondi, al contrario delle altre grandi citta` del Giappone ( o quantomeno da quelle da me finora viste).

Nice and huge Sapporo is a very modern city even in the dowtown compare with other japanese cities (or at least the cities I saw untill now).

Cena ad un Sushiyasan.

Iniziano le prime montagne....

the moutains begun...

.... e la prima neve....

...and the first snow either...

...e anche l'ultima visto che scesi dalle montagne, per tutto il periodo in cui sono stato non ha nevicato !

...and also the last for comming down there was no more for all my staying there!

Hokkaido e` un isola con una grande catena di montagne quasi al centro , il resto e un enorme pianura coltivata a grano, cereali, patate e altro ancora oltre all'allevamento principalmente di mucche e maiali. Una terra fertile quanto fredda ma riscaldata dalle persone... o comunque da quelle da me incontrate!

Hokkaido is a island with a chain of told mountains almost in the center and all around it's almost a flat contry where corn, cereals, potatos and so on and on growing nicely with farm for cows and pigs. It's a very fertile land as well as cold but warmed by the people who live there...or at least from who I have met!

Dopo circa tre ore di treno arriviamo a Obihiro (l'altra grande citta` di Hokkaido), affittiamo una macchina e per un altr ora e mezza circa guidiamo sempre nell'aperta campagna, verso le montagne.

After almost 3 hours by train we arrived to Obihiro ( the second big city in Hokkaido). We rent a car and then another 1hour and half driving trough the large and flat contry-side to the north and the mountains.

Per tutto questo tempo non una svolta ne sali-scendi, solo dritto !!! Una terra completamente diversa dal resto del Giappone .

Si! Non sono molti anzi sono proprio pochi! 18 ragazzi contando tutte le classi dalla prima alla quinta! una scuola molto piccola ma forse proprio per questo con un calore cosi` particolare che ha lasciato il segno !!!

Yes! there were not so many ! acctually there were very few only 18 children counting all the classes from the first year to the fifth! A very small school but maybe for this so warm to leave a nice and deep sign!
